Museum Bums events at V&A Dundee – 22-23 June 2024
Posted on 1st June, 2024

Coming up in June we have a weekend of free Museum Bum-y events at V&A Dundee, in collaboration with the University of Dundee‘s LGBT+ Staff Network
On Saturday 22nd June we are Queering the Body: The bodies of queer figures or those designed by queer creators help raise questions around self-image, fluidity and beauty. Examine these themes as you tour the Scottish Design Galleries, delve into discussions and learn more about the historical contexts of these works. Work together with other participants to design a collaborative zine by collaging, drawing, photographing or writing about your ideas!
On Sunday 23rd June, join us for a unique tour of the Scottish Design Galleries with a special focus on the beautiful bums on display. Presented in collaboration with University of Dundee LGBT+ Staff Network.
Also on Sunday 23rd June, Pow! Biff! Bum! We chat with industry experts about the portrayal of bodies in comics. Inspired by Dundee’s interwoven relationship with comics and publishing, we will explore how perceived audiences have shaped the way characters have been depicted, how figures have been warped into impossible poses and ask the crucial question; ‘Who has the best bum in all of comics?!’ Presented in collaboration with University of Dundee LGBT+ Staff Network.
We would be so happy if you joined us for one (or all) of these events. They are free, but you do need to book via the links above.
