Museum Bums

A Cheeky Look at Butts in Art

About Us

Mark Small

Mark has always loved history, heritage, museums and archives, and the love of bums kind of developed separately until he realised there were loads of bums *in* history, heritage, museums and archives!

He studied history, archaeology and urban history; then worked with various heritage charities before working front of house in Bristol museums and archives.

Mark sees importance in sharing queer, feminist, and intersectional histories because they’re often the ones that have been missed out in traditional places of learning.

Jack Shoulder

Jack has worked with some of the biggest names in heritage in the UK to make history more accessible to everyone – even those who thought they weren’t interested at all!

He specialises in helping people see things from a new perspective and to see the world in a different way.

He is passionate about sharing the histories of marginalised people, and can often be found leading tours, writing blog posts and composing tweets to share he new favourite facts.

Jack is thrilled that you’re here to find out more about the most fabulous bums museums have to offer!
